Printing rubber rollers are tools used in many industries. If used improperly, they can have a significant impact. Now, let me teach you the three taboos of using printing rubber rollers.
First taboo: not cleaning thoroughly.
Printing rubber rollers should be cleaned regularly. If they are not cleaned thoroughly over time, the surface of the rollers will become uneven, affecting their use. This can cause a smooth and hard film to form on the surface due to the oxidation of the surface layer and pigments or resins, leading to a glassy surface that affects ink transfer. Therefore, after stopping the machine, the rollers should be cleaned and stored properly for future use.
Second taboo: improper storage location.
Generally, everyone knows that rubber rollers should be stored in a cool, dry, and ventilated place, avoiding storage with acids, alkalis, oils, and sharp hard objects, and should be stored either vertically or horizontally to prevent corrosion and damage to the rollers. Additionally, the rollers should be placed straight on the shaft neck, and their surfaces should not touch each other or other items. There is actually another easily overlooked issue: rubber rollers should not be stored near large electric motors or generators. This is because these devices produce a large amount of ozone, which can cause the surface of the rollers to age and crack.
Third taboo: baking ink rubber rollers.
This phenomenon mainly occurs in the cold northern regions. Due to the low temperatures in winter, the ink may not be applied evenly. The correct approach is to appropriately add auxiliary materials to the ink. It is prohibited to use infrared heaters or similar devices to bake ink rubber rollers to prevent oxidation of the rollers.
